JGBI Special Issue

Progress in Hospitality and Tourism

Hospitality and tourism fields have produced a lot of research in the last several decades. Such progress is evidenced by the increasing number of research articles in numerous hospitality/tourism journals. In addition, technology has changed the way hospitality and tourism businesses are conducted. Other current trends such as sustainability, experience economy, sharing economy have changed the scope of hospitality and tourism research. To provide a basis for understanding the trends and issues that are related to the major areas in hospitality and tourism, Journal of Global Hospitality and Tourism here presents a Special Issue that comprises review articles, each focusing on a specific area and providing important information about the past and present research efforts, together with directions for future research. We aim for this special issue to look at the issues from 30,000 feet view and provide an analysis for gaps, if present and guide future research.

This issue welcome review papers on different aspects of hospitality and tourism. It will review the previous (up to 10-15 years) and current research and reflect on future research. Each submission should follow a structural method to review the published articles, categorize them, critically analyze, identify research gaps and suggest a list for future research topics. The purpose of this issue is to measure progress in a topic related to hospitality and tourism. We invite researchers to contribute to this special issue. JGHT is a new, open-access journal published by the University of South Florida M3 Center.
